PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) Scheme

Main purpose: This scheme promises to pay all poor farmers (small and marginal farmers having lands up to 2 hectares) Rs 6,000 each every year in 3 installments through Direct Bank Transfer. It would reportedly benefit around 14.5 crore farmers all over India.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana:

Main purpose: To address the problems of farm sector distress, the Modi 2.0 Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide small and marginal farmers with a minimum Rs 3,000 per month fixed pension, costing Rs 10,774.5 crore per annum to the exchequer.

The eligible farmers in the 18-40 years age group can participate in this voluntary and contributory pension scheme.

Once the beneficiary of the pension dies, the spouse will be entitled to receive 50% of the original beneficiary's pension amount.

Mega Pension Scheme

Main purpose: A Mega Pension Scheme has been approved for the traders, shopkeepers, and self-employed persons (whose GST turnover is less than Rs 1.5 crore).

The scheme guarantees a minimum assured pension of Rs 3,000 per month for around 3 crore small traders, self-employed persons, and shopkeepers, once they attain 60 years of age.

New Jal Shakti Ministry

Main purpose: It aims at providing a piped water connection to every Indian household by the year 2024. Reports say that the ministry will now be able to formulate plans to address the issue of water management.

Jan Dhan Yojana

Main purpose: Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is a National Mission on Financial Inclusion which has an integrated approach to bring about comprehensive financial inclusion and provide banking services to all households in the country. The scheme ensures access to a range of financial services like availability of basic savings bank account, access to need-based credit, remittances facility, insurance and pension.

Skill India Mission

Main purpose: The Mission has been developed to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities. Further, to achieve the vision of 'Skilled India', the National Skill Development Mission would not only consolidate and coordinate skilling efforts but also expedite decision making across sectors to achieve skilling at scale with speed and standards.

Make in India

Main purpose: PM Narendra Modi launched the 'Make in India' campaign to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property & build best in class manufacturing infrastructure.

'Make in India' has identified 25 sectors in manufacturing, infrastructure and service activities and detailed information is being shared through interactive web-portal and professionally developed brochures. FDI has been opened up in Defence Production, Construction and Railway infrastructure in a big way.

Swachh Bharat Mission

Main purpose: On 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Mission was launched throughout the length and breadth of the country as a national movement. The campaign aims to achieve the vision of a 'Clean India' by 2nd October 2019.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India.

Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana

Main purpose: It is a rural development program broadly focusing upon the development in the villages which includes social development, cultural development and spread motivation among the people on social mobilization of the village community.

Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM)

Main purpose: It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme, under which the subscriber would receive the following benefits:

(i) Minimum Assured Pension: Each subscriber under the PM-SYM, shall receive a minimum assured pension of Rs 3000/- per month after attaining the age of 60 years.

(ii) Family Pension: During the receipt of a pension, if the subscriber dies, the spouse of the beneficiary shall be entitled to receive 50% of the pension received by the beneficiary as a family pension. Family pension is applicable only to spouses.

(iii) If a beneficiary has given regular contribution and died due to any cause (before age of 60 years), his/her spouse will be entitled to join and continue the scheme subsequently by payment of regular contribution or exit the scheme as per provisions of exit and withdrawal.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Main purpose: The goal of this scheme is to make girls socially and financially self-reliant through education.

Hridaya Plan

Main purpose: To take care of world heritage sites and to make these sites economically viable.

PM Mudra Yojna

Main purpose: Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) is a scheme launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on April 8, 2015 for providing loans up to 10 lakh to the non-corporate, non-farm small/micro-enterprises.

Atal Pension Yojana

Main purpose: Atal Pension Yojana is a pension scheme mainly aimed at the unorganized sector such as maids, gardeners, delivery boys, etc. This scheme replaced the previous Swavalamban Yojana which wasn't accepted well by the people.

Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana

Main purpose: Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is a government-backed Life insurance scheme in India. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana is available to people between 18 and 50 years of age with bank accounts.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana

Main purpose: Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is a government-backed accident insurance scheme in India. As of May 2016, only 20% of India's population has any kind of insurance, this scheme aims to increase the number.

AMRUT Plan

Main purpose: Providing basic services (e.g. water supply, sewerage, urban transport) to households and build amenities in cities which will improve the quality of life for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged is a national priority.

The purpose of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) is to:

·        Ensure that every household has access to a tap with an assured supply of water and a sewerage connection.

·        Increase the amenity value of cities by developing greenery and well maintained open spaces (e.g. parks) and

·        Reduce pollution by switching to public transport or constructing facilities for non-motorized transport (e.g. walking and cycling). All these outcomes are valued by citizens, particularly women, and indicators and standards have been prescribed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA ) in the form of Service Level Benchmarks (SLBs).

Digital India Mission

Main purpose: The Digital India program is a flagship program of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

Gold Monetization Scheme

Main purpose: Gold Monetisation Scheme was launched by the Government of India in 2015, under this scheme one can deposit their gold in any form in a GMS account to earn interest as the price of the gold metal goes up.

UDAY

Main purpose: Ministry of Power, GoI launched Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) which was approved by Union Cabinet on 5th November 2015.

Stand Up India

Main purpose: Stand-Up India Scheme Facilitates bank loans between 10 lakh and 1 Crore to at least one Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) borrower and at least one woman borrower per bank branch for setting up a greenfield enterprise.

Prime Minister Ujjwala Plan

Main purpose: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on May 1, 2016 to distribute 50 million LPG connections to women of BPL families.

Namami Gange Yojana

Main purpose: The Government launched an integrated Ganga conservation mission called 'Namami Gange' to arrest the pollution of the Ganga River and revive the river.

Arunodhya Scheme of Assam:

Godhan Nyay Yojna: 

Launched by Chhatisgarh Govt. where state govt. will buy the cow dung. The scheme aims to make animal husbandry commercially profitable, prevent open grazing by cattle and solve the problem of stray animals on roads and for environmental conservation, to promote animal husbandry and make it a profitable practice. As a consistent effort to strengthen the rural economy.

Navigating The New Normal:  NITI Aayog launches a behavior change campaign 'navigating the new normal' & its website to help to follow norms to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Din Dayal Upadhyay Gram Kaushal Yojana – DDU-GKY:

The Din Dayal Upadhyay Gram Kaushal Yojna ( DDU-GKY) is a placement linked skill development program for the rural youth. To date, there have been 66 special projects that were taken up under the DDU-GKY scheme. 15 states have a minimum of 5 approved projects and many in the pipeline.

DDU-GKY funds a variety of skill training programs all over the country that include over 250 trades such as Retail, Hospitality, Health, Construction, Automotive, Leather, Electrical, Plumbing, Gems and Jewellery, to name a few. DDU-GKY is being adopted throughout India as the scheme is being implemented on a large scale basis, in almost all the states, union territories.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission – DAY-NULM:

The main aim of DAY-NULM mission is to curb poverty of the urban poor households by providing them access to their skill-related employment opportunities in an organized manner. As a part of this scheme, regional workshops have also been conducted in support of urban homeless, urban street vendors etc. A major objective of the scheme is to help people earn a sustainable livelihood through skilling and upskilling.

Another objective is to increase the income of the urban poor by encouraging them to be a part of courses that can provide salaried employment and or self-employment opportunities which will eventually lead to better living standards. Through this scheme, the government of India also hopes to eradicate the threats that a regular worker faces in the unorganized sectors of work. The belief that the poor also have the entrepreneurial capability and have an intent desire to come out of poverty, is what drives this mission.

Director General of Training – Modular Employable Skills – DGT-MES:

The government of India and the Ministry of Labor together have launched Modular Employable Skills(MES) under Skill Development Initiative (SDI). Under this scheme, school dropouts and existing workers, especially, in the unorganized sector are to be trained for employable skills.    The scheme has been in operation since 2007 and statistics show that a large number of school dropouts do not have access to skill development for improving their employability through various vocational training and apprenticeship programs.

The basic objective of the scheme is to provide vocational training to school dropouts, ITI graduates, rural and unemployed youth to improve their employability. Also, priority is given to those above the age of 14 years who have suffered in the form of child labor to enable them to learn employable skills in order to get gainful employment.

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act – NREGA:

 NREGA  guarantees the right to work in rural areas by providing wage employment to unskilled manual workers. People are ensured for at least 100 days of employment in every household to a member who is willing to do unskilled work. Employment under NREGA has legal clauses and the employment schemes are directly implemented by the gram panchayats.

Apart from providing economic security and creating rural assets, NREGA also aims in protecting the environment, empowering rural women, reducing rural-urban migration and fostering social equity, among others.

Ministry Of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship – MSDE:

The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is responsible for the coordination of overall skill development efforts across the country, building the vocational and technical training framework, skill up-gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs but also jobs that are to be created.

The ministry has aided and supported several other missions that also focus on skill development like the – National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and 33 Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) as well as 187 training partners registered with NSDC. The Ministry also wishes to work with the existing chain of skill development training centers, universities and other institutes in the field.

National Skill Development Corporation – NSDC:

The National Skill Development Corporation(NSDC) is a unique organization under PPP mode, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. It aims to promote skill development by initiating the creation of large and quality-oriented training institutes all over the country. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training. The existence of multiple sectors in the country is always a boon for the investors.

The NSDC works with 267 training partners that represent the core ideology of NSDC. Over the past 4 years, NSDC along with its partners has delivered over 2 million skilled people in more than 25 sectors, The government of India works closely with NSDC to help financing training and thus contribute to the overall target of skilling 400 million people in India by 2022.

National Skill Development Agency – NSDA:

NSDA is an autonomous body of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which aims to coordinate the skill development efforts of the Government and the private sector to achieve the skilling targets by 2022. The NSDA works in partnership with several agencies like the NSDC, Central ministry skill programs, ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, sector skill councils. The NSDA works with 26 different kinds of skill sectors. The NSDA aims to be the major agency for State Skill Development Missions and also ensure that the skilling needs of the disadvantaged and the marginalized groups like SCs, STs, OBCs, minorities, women and differently-abled persons are taken care of without any bias.

National Rural Livelihood Mission – Ajeevika skills:

Aajeevika National Rural Livelihood Mission(NRLM) is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. The Aajeevika Skill Development Programme (ASDP)  operates under NRLM.  Its aim is to understand the professional aspirations and interests of youth and to also increase their daily income. This mission provides young people from poor communities an opportunity to upgrade their skills and enter the skilled workforce of the country. Some key features of the scheme include post-placement support, food and transport during training and assured placement.

NRLM wishes to bring a change by supporting the entrepreneurial skills of the poor by creating appropriate platforms through dedicated and sensitive support structures. NRLM has a demand-driven strategy and also encourages states to have their own perspective of implementing this scheme. Through this scheme, the private sector is also being encouraged to set up self-employment generation training institutes.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana – PMKVY:

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna( PMKVY) is a unique initiative by the Government of India that aims to train about 24 lakh Indian youth to be industry-relevant, skill-based and to prepare them for the global market. Under this scheme, the trainees will also be given financial support and a certificate on successful completion of training and assessment, which will help them in securing a job for a better future. This scheme mainly focuses on the upbringing of youth and to prepare them to face the challenges of the industrial world.

Keeping in mind the very less emphasis laid on skill development in schools and colleges, the government has decided to set up training centers. Interested candidates need to undergo certain basic steps to take part in the course. Candidates are firstly expected to find a training center, get enrolled, learn the required skill, be a part of an assessment and a certification program and gain a reward at the end. The PMKVY scheme is being implemented successfully with many skill sectors all over the country.

SWADES: It is Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support. In an effort to map the skills of workers returning to India from overseas, the government will conduct a skill mapping exercise under SWADES (Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support) initiative. The exercise, kick-started under the Vande Bharat Mission, aims to create a database of qualified citizens based on their skillsets and experience, which can be tapped into to fulfill the demand of Indian and foreign companies.:

=>Nekara Samman Yojna: A scheme launched by Govt. of Karnataka. The nekar Samman scheme was launched on 6th July 2020. It was announced that the beneficiaries will get an annual amount of Rs. 2000 under this scheme. Details of Nekara Samman Yojana.
